The promise and the power of connection shapes our lives. Yet increasingly many of us find ourselves disconnected from the things that matter most to us as individuals and communities. Where and how do we reconnect? When and why should we disconnect? What balance resides in that powerful space between connection and disconnection?

As we share ideas on bridging this gap, we’ll experience for ourselves what it means to be DIS-CONNECTED.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWaterloo, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWaterloo event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. Learn more at: http://www.ted.com/tedx

We are a group of volunteers who are passionate about bringing the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) mission of Ideas Worth Spreading to our community. As we enter into our third successful year, TEDxWaterloo continues to be completely volunteer run and supported by many generous community-minded companies and organizations.
